Truth be told I don't think Bioware has a choice but to fix the ending. From a marketing perspective if anything else. Think about how their DLC sales will hurt as a result. There won't be alot of people purchasing multiplayer DLC because the only purpose multiplayer serves is to boost your galactic readiness (which does little to nothing anyway, a 20 second clip for hours of work that you can just watch on youtube). And any DLC that takes place in the middle of the story will be more or less written off by dedicated fans of the series. Regardless of the reason Bioware decided to let an elephant crap on the ending of one of the more amazing trilogies of our time, intended or not the repercussions are going to be severe. Even if they have damn near brain surgeon quality PR / Damage control, I can't see them walking away from this without a nasty stigma attached to their name going forward.

In short, the endings will be fixed, changed, or at the very least, expanded upon. When this will happen? Who knows. But it will happen because it has to. If not for the fans, for the sake of business. And make no mistake, EA is all about business.

And yes, if by unforgettable they mean putting out the worst ending to one of the most beloved trilogies of our generation, then yes. The ending to Mass Effect 3 is so bad that it will be an unforgettable failure that will be remember for many years to come.

Ending was an embarassment and a true look into what Bioware has become with EA at the helm. SWTOR launched unfinished and buggy as hell with little to no endgame, and Mass Effect 3 (intended or not) provided zero closure and a terrible close to an epic series. Even if they do DLC an epilogue / closing chapter it would still work against Bioware in the sense that they would be offering up the conclusion of their game (something that should have been included in the final package like promised) for charged DLC.

WoW is losing subs because of its age and Blizzard's inability to provide an epic experience of past expansions. Call of Duty will dominate because everyone loves spending $60 a year on the same rehashed garbage. Diablo 3 should do very well but without the PvP arena @ launch it might delay some potential sales of series vets that loved their level 99 hardcore character duels.

The one thing that makes this plausible in my eyes is the stone cold reality. The only thing multiplayer is good for in ME3 is raising galactic readiness. The overall multiplayer experience in the game is kind of contrived. Granted, they mean't for it to be this way. They said point blank that they didn't want the multiplayer to really be a focal point aside from being an alternative to getting a better ending (and what a wonder effect it really had on the ending /rolls eyes). So with all of the rage happening on Social Bioware right now, Bioware doesn't really have a choice from a business angle but to release a DLC epilogue of sorts. If they really hope to capitalize and rake in maximum margin dollars from DLC, they have to give players incentive to replay the game in general. Because right now, you can debate it all you want, Mass Effect 3 has the least replay value of any other ME game in the series.

Game is absolutely beautiful. It really makes you wonder if they purposely tried to anger the community as much as they did. I just can't sit here and fathom how they could have been like "ok, these 3 endings are great! This is groundbreaking story telling! One color explosion for each decision!" I mean, no one at Bioware stood up to say "uhhh lol wut?!" when they ran these through production? Just awful. I wouldn't be as upset if it didn't completely destroy the entire series for me. I have no desire to ever replay these games again because the end result is the same. Complete and utter garbage and nothing less than a well played troll job by Bioware.

Amazing series that somehow shot itself in the head in the last 10 minutes... Bioware really screwed up.
