Insomniac Talks Developing for Other Platforms and Performing Tricks on PS3

Insomniac Games is a third-party developer with ties very close to Sony. As such, some of their top franchises like Resistance and Ratchet & Clank are strongly associated with the PlayStation platforms. On the other hand, Crash Bandicoot and Lara Croft, also third-party creations, were once upon a time both strongly tied to the PlayStation brand, serving as unofficial mascots for the original PlayStation. They've since moved on to encompass all platforms, and... well, that road has just been like traveling a long, gravel driveway on a tricycle for them, hasn't it? In any case, the question remains: what does Insomniac think of the idea of spreading their wings and branching out (pardon my mixed metaphors) onto other platforms? After all, many publishers and developers have already decided that remaining console-exclusive isn't especially viable in this climate.

Batman: Arkham Asylum: Is Eidos Up to Their Old Tricks?

Eidos has made a name for itself in the industry as a controversial figure, and not in the usual "video games are corrupting our society" kind of way. Falsified promotion, Gerstmanngate, and other such nonsense that is generally frowned upon have been the order of the day before, and it seems that they're up to their old tricks again... maybe. The RAM Raider alleges that while a number of magazines already have their review code for Batman: Arkham Asylum, they have to sit on their respective critiques until the end of the month. That is, unless they are willing to concede to two conditions.

Capcom Has a Few Tricks in Mind for Wii in '09

Yesterday, it was noted that Sony could expect some Capcom lovin' on the PlayStation Network and PSP come 2009, but apparently they aren't the only ones who will be receiving it; Nintendo is on Santa 'Com's "Nice" list as well.

No Balance Board Tricks in EA's Skate It

This may be old news, but better safe than sorry. Those hoping to get Electronic Arts' Skate It on Wii and really get into it, using the Balance Board and pulling off tricks might be just a little disappointed. Maybe. According to NGamer magazine, it's the Wii remote and Nunchuck you'll be using to perform tricks, leaving the Balance board to allow you to steer: "You can't use the board to pull off tricks - that's only done with the remote and nunchuck - but along with the likes of Family Ski, Skate It is further proof that what could be achieved with the new peripheral is fresh and exciting."

Treyarch Says Content, Not Tricks Key to Beating Used Game Market

These days, it seems like every publisher out there is doing their best to force gamers to buy new copies of games if they want all the available content. What started with Project Ten Dollar and has now evolved into Online Pass, and some analysts believe it's only a matter of time before big-name games start charging separate fees to play online. The folks at Treyarch have a different idea, why not just make games that are so good and so full of content that people don't want to trade them in? Words of wisdom after the break.

Media: Skate 2, Now With Double The Tricks

The original Skate was a smash hit among gamers and a serious shot across the bow of the Tony Hawk Skateboarding franchises. It looks like EA is back and ready to unleash more havoc by doubling the moves that are at your disposal. With innovations like this, the possibilities are endless. Check out this developer trailer that describes the new features. I have always been a fan of the Tony Hawk and skateboarding games in general, but missed out on the original Skate. Do you think it would be worth my while to go back and check it out?

Ten Tricks to Xbox 360 That Microsoft Didn't Tell You

Typically, the manufacturers of game consoles don't like it when the consumer public begin to take apart their machines and see what makes them tick, or what further use they can get out of them.
