Dead Space 2 DLC Announced

  Dead Space 2 is out today, for you eager beavers ready to get your horror on. It's one hell of a scary game, and fans of the franchise are going to get a major kick out of it. Me? Well, I've been watching my roommate play it for a couple days now, and let's just say it's unsettling enough for me to keep away. I'm kind of a pansy. However! There are plenty of fans of the game, and EA wants to keep those people pleased. How are they going to do it? Well, even though Dead Space 2 has only been out for a day, they figure this would be a good time to announce the first batch of DLC, a short series of single player levels called Severed. It will tell the story of Gabe and Lexine,  the two survivors of Extraction, which you can currently play on the Wii and PS3 (if you buy the first run print of Dead Space 2, that is). Anyway, price and release date have not be announced, but considering the fantastic response the game has received so far, it hopefully will not be too far off.

Dead Space 2 Trailer Reveals Left 4 Dead Style Multiplayer Dismemberment

Dead Space was one of the surprise masterpieces of the decade, and the sequel has garnered quite a bit of hype. Dead Space 2 is set for release next January, and it will expand on the first game in a number of ways, from larger environments to a talking protagonist and - of course - multiplayer. Dead Space was a solitary experience; even Isaac Clark's allies only served to annoy him and then (spoilers!) get killed. How will multiplayer affect the overall experience? RUMOR: Dead Space 2 to Feature Necromorph vs Soldiers Multiplayer

  It's been known for a while that Dead Space 2 would incorporate multiplayer. But exactly what form that multiplayer would take has been the subject of some speculation. GameStop's annual conference earlier this week apparently saw EA spilling some details about the game. There are also some further details about pre-order bonuses which have been confirmed. Dead Space 2\'s Gamescom Trailer is One Minute Long, Still Incredible

    Thus far, Dead Space 2 has focused on Isaac Clarke's adventures around the giant Sprawl space station, using a wider variety of weapons to take on a massive array of Necromorph baddies. This has extended to the game's promotion as well, which hasn't looked much different from the original survival horror classic. Until now. The Gamescom trailer for the game is not even a minute long, and yet it may be the most poignant trailer released yet. Because it, quite simply, is amazing.

Dead Space 2 "Ignition" Image Hints at Upcoming Announcement

Dead Space 2 fans have, over the last several months, been treated to some of the most interesting game marketing in recent memory. The ink blots, mysterious packages and cryptic trailer that have come to light have all hinted that something is seriously wrong with protagonist Isaac Clark, whether physically, psychologically or both. Now that some hearty gameplay footage has been devoured by fans and media alike, though, it's likely that Visceral will be revealing more and more about the game's new features. Cue the above image, which showed up on the Dead Space Facebook page today. "If you look closely you might find that there's a hint hidden in here about a big announcement we'll be making this week. Let the guessing begin!" reads the image's caption. That sounds like a challenge to us- let the guessing begin, indeed. *Cracks knuckles* Hit the jump for some really, really good guesses.

E3 2010: Dead Space 2 Gameplay Trailer

Visceral Games' Dead Space certainly provided a new take on the survival horror genre, but its sequel looks to take things even further. Isaac Clarke is back, and this time, he's REALLY pissed off. Above is the debut gameplay trailer, which shows off Isaac's new look and new moves, showcasing the game's new setting of the massive space station known as "the Sprawl". And with the bigger locale comes, yes, bigger Necromorphs.

Dead Space 2 Cover Art Revealed

Gamers following the official Dead Space twitter were treated to a pleasant surprise this afternoon, as Visceral has revealed the official cover art for the upcoming sci-fi survival horror game. "We promised a big reveal and here it is!" went the tweet. "Official Dead Space 2 Cover Art!" The cover, seen above, features a close-up of series protagonist Isaac Clarke's new helmet. The implications, considered in the context of the clever marketing Visceral has sent out periodically for the game, are that the game will focus on Isaac's psychological condition in addition to the external threats of necromorphs and Unitologists.
