Bioshock Infinite is looking lovely. Those who have been able to get to their Xboxes today will have probably already checked out the trailer. For those who are away from their Xbox, or indeed those who don't have an Xbox, never fear. Because this is the Internet, land of the free, the "exclusive" trailer is already plastered all over every video-sharing and social networking website there is. So one more site posting it won't hurt, surely. Take ten minutes out to watch the trailer above. Then hit the jump to find out more.
On September 21st -- that's tomorrow for those who don't feel like tracking down a calendar -- Irrational Games will show off some game play footage from the upcoming Bioshock Infinite. There is a somewhat unnecessary a catch though. The footage will be available on Xbox Live tomorrow at 9 AM, but only for 24 hours. What they are really saying though, is that on 9 AM on the 22nd, if you want to see the trailer, you will have to look online. In fact, that is what they literally say in the press release. Find out what else they said after the jump.
The first gameplay trailer for BioShock Infinite has been revealed via GameTrailers TV. It isn't an "official" gameplay trailer, rather it's part of a larger episode and highlights about 30 seconds of gameplay scenes spliced together. The effect is exciting, though. To put it bluntly, BioShock Infinite looks great. Hit the break to get our dissection of the video.Â
Multiplayer isn't a certainty for BioShock Infinite, said Ken Levine this week at gamescom.  "Here's what I have to say about multiplayer - it's what we said about BioShock 1: 'We have not made any determinations about multiplayer.  "I will say that we experiment with things, but for us we are never interested in making a multiplayer mode you could just play in some other game. Because, A) that's not creatively interesting and B), financially, you're wasting your time. They're going to go playHalo. They're going to go play Call of Duty."  Find out what else Levine had to say and what it means for the likelihood of multiplayer in BioShock Infinite after the break. Â
This week is full of exciting news, folks. Our own Jeff Grub produced an excellent video that explains just how Nintendo managed to produce 3D effects on the 3DS without the need for dorky glasses. It not only was a huge hit here on our site but was picked up by Kotaku, Joystiq, and pretty much every major blog out there. A big win for us, Jeff, and of course, our readers because that means we're creating the type of content that people across the net appreciate. You, obviously, know we always do, but it's nice to get that extra bit of recognition from the big fish in the pond, no? Beyond Jeff's video, we have Mike Rougeau's awesome two-part interview with Jake DiGennaro on the upcoming RPG Two Worlds 2, we have reviews of Singularity, Red Dead Redemption's Legends and Killers DLC, and Madden NFL 11. And, of course, we have all the news that's worth covering this week in gaming. (There's this little thing called BioShock Infinite that looks pretty cool.) Hit the jump to catch up on this week's news in a heartbeat with our Weekly Round-Up!
Every once in a while a popular series breaks the mold and gets hit with a major shake-up before its formulas and settings get too stale. BioShock 2 was a welcome addition to Rapture lore, but what's just been unveiled will likely be seen as the true sequel to the exquisite original game. Ladies and gentlemen, meet BioShock Infinite. Formerly known only as Project Icarus, Irrational Games - developers of the original BioShock - kept the project under tights wraps until mere moments ago, when the debut trailer was unveiled. Why the secrecy? Probably because of how freaking amazing it looks. Thankfully, the underwater scene at the beginning is a fake-out, because Rapture's leaky hallways and drooping skyline were starting to feel, well, a little tired. The trailer reveals the game's all new setting: the sky. Hit the jump for that trailer and a bevy of information.
