NewsWildStar DevSpeak video features free form targeting, missing, and exploding sheep dudes
I’ve said it before and I’m sure I’ll say it a million times more, I want WildStar. As of today, Carbine released a brand new DevSpeak video featuring aiming. I know what you’re thinking… “Aiming? So what?” WildStar isn’t interested in your typical tab-targeting abilities. Instead, it uses a system they are calling ‘free form targeting.’ Your abilities will come in cone, arch, straight line, and circle forms. You need to aim these abilities and release them when they are where you want them. Sound easy? In theory yes, but what about when a giant monster, a pack of giant monsters, or even another player is chasing you’re a@# down?
Still not impressed? What if I told you that this aiming system isn’t just for the DPS? What if your tanks had to use these to pull mobs and to hold threat? What about when your healers actually have to move constantly to keep the sporadic DPS dealers from dying? What if your tank missed his taunt? What if you healer was off on his heal? Here’s the thing, because you are aiming, all your abilities can miss. No snooze fest at 3am in the morning, you’re in this fight bub.
Well I’m pumped for this. Check out the video above and pray to the beta gods for that invite code.
