NewsGameStop confirms that you've missed your chance to pre-order the PlayStation 4
If you were hoping to pre-order the PlayStation 4 at GameStop, you might have missed your chance, despite Sony giving the retailer the okay for unlimited PS4 pre-orders late last month.
Sony's next-gen console is in such high demand that the GameStop had to stop accepting reservations. A spokesperson for GameStop confirmed to GameInformer: "Due to high demand for the system, GameStop is not currently taking additional store reservations for the PlayStation 4."
If you head to GameStop's site, the PlayStation 4 'Add to Cart' button is grayed out, instead saying "Not Available." If you're a PowerUp Rewards members can join the First to Know Mailing List, which will notify you when more PlayStation 4 units become available.
This is a good problem for Sony to have. It only proves that Sony's PlayStation 4 is in high demand among gamers, and despite what they described as "unlimited pre-orders," they still had to cease taking pre-orders. Sony has to feel good about its projected sales numbers.
With Microsoft's next-gen console, the Xbox One, GameStop stopped taking pre-orders in June.
