NewsGuacamelee's first DLC is a costume-skill pack
The PlayStation 3 and PS Vita game Guacamelee! performed really well when it debuted on the PlayStation Network in April. So it's exciting to hear about what's happening next with the beat-em-up/platformer.
Toronto-based DrinkBox Studios has announced the first downloadable content for the game — a costume pack full of chickens, skeletons, and more. Each alters the looks and skills of main character Juan and Tostada, the female luchadore who assists in co-op. For example, the chicken costume allows you to regenerate health slowly but stamina less quickly. The DLC is due out tomorrow for $1.99.
One of the three costumes lets Juan and Tostada "identity swap." The pack includes new Trophies, too, which involve achieving different feats while wearing the costumes.
"A lot of people are asking for more content,” DrinkBox founder Graham Smith told IGN. He said the studio “always wanted the player to be able to swap costumes as part of the full game, and we just didn’t have time to do it. Specifically, we wanted people to be able to play as Tostada when they’re playing on the Vita, and right now there’s no way for that to happen.”
Starting tomorrow, players can switch between the two characters at will by visiting checkpoints. Nice.
No extra level content for now, though.
