NewsBy the way, Mass Effect 3 is also getting multiplayer DLC
Earlier today, BioWare confirmed that Mass Effect 3: Citadel will be the final single-player add-on pack for Mass Effect 3. Coinciding with that news was the announcement of a new multiplayer add-on, dubbed Reckoning.
Mass Effect 3: Reckoning will be free to download, adding new characters, weapons and upgrades. It will be available on February 26, 2013. Meanwhile, BioWare will give its least patient fans a sneak preview of Reckoning, and all of its glorious firepower, on February 25 at 9:30 am PST. During this stream, they'll show off gameplay and answer fan questions.
It's interesting to see the multiplayer component -- which received a lot of criticism early in conception -- supported with so much additional content. Since the game's release back in March 2012, we've seen the Resurgence Pack, Rebellion Pack, and Earth Pack (to name a few) released to extend and support the game's multiplayer. Perhaps this is BioWare's way of making amends to fans of the franchise for the disc release's much-maligned ending?
