While we still have to wait a few months to get our hands on Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the Wii U, Japan is already hard at work slaying giant monsters (read: Dinosaurs).

If you're among those that can't wait to get a glimpse at this HD port of Monster Hunter Tri, GoNintendo found an hour long video from NiNTENDOMiNATi0N that features the beginning of the game, all in stunning 1080p.

Well, stunning might be an overstatement. While the resolution is certainly 1080p, the game does seem to still suffer from bland textures that are most likely directly lifted from the Wii version.

Either way, I can't wait to get my hands on Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate when it lands stateside sometime in 2013.
