NewsAll seven candidates for MLB 13 The Show's cover named
Sony and Major League Baseball have finally unveiled all of the candidates eligible for the MLB 13 The Show Cover Showdown. Beginning on January 7th fans will be able to vote for one of the seven eligible stars to grace the cover of Sony's new baseball game.
The seven athletes up for vote are:
- Los Angeles Dodgers: Matt Kemp
- Milwaukee Brewers: Ryan Braun
- Pittsburgh Pirates: Andrew McCutchen
- Washington Nationals: Bryce Harper
- New York Yankees: C.C. Sabathia
- San Francisco Giants: Buster Posey
- Detroit Tigers: Miguel Cabrera
I'm a little surprised to see R.A. Dickey and Mike Trout left off the list. After the season both of them had last year, you'd think they'd deserve a spot. After all, Dickey was the N.L. Cy Young winner last year and many attribute the Angels' success last year to the call-up of rookie All-Star Mike Trout who batted over .350 for the majority of the season.
Still, I'm happy to see Miguel Cabrera made the list. Last year, Cabrera led the AL with 44 home runs, 139 RBIs, and a .330 batting average, earning the Triple Crown. He was also named the AL's Most Valuable Player, so he definitely deserved a spot.
Do you think anyone was snubbed this year or did Sony get it right with these seven?
