NewsMichael Kenneth Williams joining the star-studded cast of 'RoboCop'
At some point, they have to stop adding really good actors to the cast of RoboCop, right? The latest fine actor to join Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Hugh Laurie and Joel Kinnaman is Michael Kenneth Williams. Williams is best known for his role of Omar in The Wire, but I know him as my favorite professor from the NBC comedy Community.
According to Heat Vision, Williams is going to play the police officer that is partnered with Alex Murphy (Kinnaman) before he gets gunned down and turned into RoboCop. In the original, that character was Officer Anne Lewis, played by actress Nancy Allen. So will Williams be a male version of Lewis? Will Lewis even be in the film?
Filming begins next month in preparation for an August 9, 2013 release date. And don't let the reboot of Total Recall give you worries about this RoboCop reboot; it looks like this movie is being done the right way.
