Case Five - Quadriceps Tendon Rupture

Clinical History: A 56 year old female for assessment of tendon rupture in right knee.
Findings: T1 and T2 sagittal and T2 axial MRI images of the
right knee were taken. Images were made on an open field, low Tesla magnet.
These images display:
- Complete disruption of the quadriceps tendon with joint fluid
extravasating through the defect.
- Buckling of an intact patellar tendon with no evidence of baha patella.
- Lateral subluxation of the patella
Diagnosis: Complete disruption of the quadriceps tendon
